The love for theatre and events started at a very young age for Sarah Grubb when she first experienced the stage by performing herself from age 6. By the time she went to university, she had discovered she preferred to be behind the scenes. She received a BFA in Technical Theatre Production (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Professional Theatre Training Program. She also spent a semester at Sydney's National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 2000.

She was bit by the Ceremonies Bug on Melbourne’s 2006 Commonwealth Games. She then travelled the world working on various ceremonies including the 2006 Doha Asian Games Ceremonies, the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games Ceremonies, the 2011 Rugby World Cup Ceremony, the Ceremonies of the 2011 Guadalajara Pan American Games, & the Handover Segment for Rio at London 2012. During her years living out of her suitcase, she focused on technical & show operations, with a wide remit including managing the day to day needs of all technical contractors, thousands of volunteer cast and all back of house movements during the show.

Following a role on the Baku 2015 European Games Ceremonies, Sarah returned to the US where she worked as a Technical Director for several years on many different events working primarily with global pharmaceutical & biotechnology clients. These events ranged from small leadership meetings to launches and full team national sales meetings for thousands of attendees. She spent time as US Operations Director with The Creative Engagement Group where the large scale problem solving from her international experience and her knowledge in life science events assisted in ensuring the success of many projects. In 2020, when the focus switched to virtual, Sarah assembled highly skilled teams to deliver the virtual needs of over 100+ meetings in Zoom, Teams and many other virtual platforms.

In 2021, Sarah moved to Orlando to work as Director of Production at the Special Olympics 2022 USA Games focusing on the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

She now works as an event consultant on various projects.
